Housemate Rota

Terms of use

The short version: Housemate Rota is free to use, your board is yours, please use it fairly, and keep a backup.

Who we are

Housemate Rota is run by Easy Booking Engine Limited, a company registered in Ireland, 69 St Fintan’s Road, Sutton, Dublin 13, D13 A6K7. These terms are between you and us. By using the website or the app, you agree to them.

The service

Housemate Rota is a cleaning rota for shared houses: a board that runs on your own device, a printable rota maker and a cleaning schedule maker. The board is free. House Plus, a paid extra that keeps everyone’s phone in sync, is coming later. When it arrives it will have its own price and terms, shown to you before anyone pays.

Getting the app

To open the app, you give us a first name and an email address, and we send you a code. Use your own email address. You need to be 16 or over.

Using it fairly

Your board and your data

Your board is stored on your device, not with us, so you are in control of it. Clearing your browser or removing the app deletes it, so save a backup now and then from Settings: we cannot recover a board we never had. How we handle your name and email is in our privacy policy.

What we can promise

We work hard to keep Housemate Rota running smoothly, but it is provided as it is. We cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and we may change or improve it. Points, rotas and schedules are a fun way to share the work, not an agreement between housemates. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer under Irish law.

Our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for a board lost from your device or for disagreements between housemates. If we are responsible for a loss, our liability is limited to €50, or to what you paid us in the last 12 months if that is more. None of this limits anything the law does not allow us to limit, such as fraud, or injury caused by our negligence.

Stopping

You can stop using Housemate Rota at any time: remove the app, and email us if you would like your name and email deleted. We may stop providing the app to anyone who breaks these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, the date below changes, and for important changes we tell you in the app or by email.

The law

These terms are governed by Irish law, and the courts of Ireland deal with any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country’s consumer law.
